About Pangea Propulsion:
We are a company dedicated to developing advanced propulsion systems for the space industry based on three key principles: high efficiency, sustainability, and reusability. We are revolutionizing the space industry with ground-breaking innovations that allow us to offer the best performance to cost propulsion systems.
Our goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next generation of spacecraft, which is essential to meet demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade.
We are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space propulsion technology.
We have already made history by successfully testing the world's first 3D-printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry.
We are looking for talented professionals to join our international teams in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be a key player in improving diversity in the Aerospace sector as, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team!
We are looking for a Configuration & PLM Engineer in Toulouse.
About your job:
We are looking for a Configuration & PLM Engineer to establish and manage the company's configuration management processes across our propulsion product portfolio.
You will ensure that product requirements, design baselines, technical data, BoMs, and change histories are all accurately tracked and coherent throughout the entire development lifecycle. Your work will provide clear visibility of product evolution and guarantee traceability across all development activities, as well as ensure that all teams are working using the same data, and using correct data. As such you should have a good attention to detail and an attitude of correctness and control. You should find and resolve discrepencies early, to avoid any downstream consequences.
As the company's primary Configuration & PLM Engineer, you will work closely with engineering, operations, product assurance, project management, and commercial teams to maintain configuration integrity across all products including ARCOS, KRONOS, and Nereus.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, implement, and maintain the company's configuration management processes and best practices.
Establish and administrate/manage product baselines, requirements, design states, and configuration identifiers.
Develop and maintain configuration databases, PLM tools, and the company’s documentation management systems to ensure smooth operations, and train the team on how to use them.
Support the creation of project activity matrices where needed, especially by ensuring clear definition and traceability of inputs and outputs.
Monitor and report configuration evolutions where needed, including for key parameters such as mass, dimensions, power, thrust, mass flow rate etc., and produce configuration status and evolution reports for technical and management stakeholders.
Manage engineering change requests (ECRs) and coordinate technical evaluations with subject matter experts.
Support project reviews and audits by ensuring the availability, completness, and consistency of the required documentation and data packages.
Manage Review Item Discrepancy (RID) processes.
Assess supplier configuration waivers and provide limited support for certain Product Assurance activities.
Ensure that the PLM Software is the source of truth for product configuration and lifecycle information.
Manage and ensure consistency of product structures/BOMs, items, revisions, documentation, baselines and maturity states within PLM.
Ensure product information remains controlled and traceable throughout the lifecycle, from engineering through manufacturing, testing and operations.
Manage engineering changes through PLM and coordinate change impact assessments across affected products, components, documentation, requirements and downstream activities.
Ensure product-data consistency across Engineering, Product Assurance, Operations and Supply Chain.
Monitor product-data quality, identifying configuration gaps, inconsistencies and missing information.
Act as the key user/business owner for configuration-related Teamcenter processes, supporting the different disciplines in their correct application.
Identify improvements to Configuration/PLM processes, define the business requirements and coordinate their implementation with our specialized PLM partners.
What you need to be successful:
Degree in engineering or a related relevant technical field.
2+ years of working experience in Configuration Management, Product Data Management, PLM/PDM, Systems Engineering or similar activities in a complex engineering environment.
Good knowledge of Configuration Management principles, particularly baselines, configuration identification, revisions and change control.
Practical understanding of product structures/BOMs, items, revisions and lifecycle/maturity states.
Experience using PLM/PDM tools to manage product information and engineering changes.
Teamcenter experience highly valued, but not mandatory. Experience with equivalent PLM/PDM platforms such as Windchill, Arena, 3DEXPERIENCE or similar should also be considered.
Experience interacting across Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality/PA and Supply Chain.
Aerospace/space experience and knowledge of ECSS Configuration Management practices highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of organization and autonomy, as well as good attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously.
Fluency in English.
Other useful skills:
Experience in the development cycle of rocket engines, propulsion systems, or launch vehicle hardware, or alternatively with similar complex, high-performant, and safety-critical systems.
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or other collaborative engineering tools / requirement management tools such as Valispace, CDP4, OCDT, or DOORS.
Previous applied experience in systems engineering, product assurance, or configuration management within aerospace projects. Relevant certifications are considered a plus.
Open to work on defense-related projects. Candidate must be eligible for security clearance.
Our working environment:
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment, with flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
A structured and detail-oriented engineer with a strong sense of ownership.
Someone comfortable working independently while coordinating across multiple multidisciplinary teams.
